She also gives workshops and courses for people of all ages and her passion is to sing Argentine and Finnish tango.
Marianne has arranged music for choirs, edited educational material and acted as artistic director of music events. She has published approximately 20 recordings as a soloist and with ensembles e.g. with Lauri Antila, Maria Kalaniemi, Sofia Lindroos, Pirnales, Ramunder, Jouhiorkesteri, Folkrörelsen and Skrubiluttan Å Skrubilej. I work with music in care environments with singing and violin as my instruments.
The program is prepared specifically for each occasion and target group. The repertoire is varied and contains songs and instrumental tunes in different styles. The songs are mainly in Finnish or Swedish, but also songs in English and Spanish can be included.
Sing-alongs are often popular and the audience may request songs. Active interaction and dialog with listeners/audience play an important role in the music events of care environments.
The music creates a space for emotions and what we have no words for and gives comfort and joy. In music, we can meet, experience understanding and togetherness, and share the present moment.
